Every week her son would come home from LEAD and share with her about what he made and what he learned. She said it gave them a whole new way to communicate about things that were important: family, respect, and ways to value traditions with art. When the parent would meet for the parent art workshop, they would discuss issues like bullying. She said she became aware of a wide range of emotions other than “happy”, “sad” and “angry” which are clues to help understand what your child may be experiencing at school. LEAD opened up a whole new way to communicate and build a better relationship with her son.
